Mission of Hope-Honduras believes that education is a key to breaking the cycle of poverty. For this reason, 10 schools have been built in remote impoverished areas.

Similar to our policies for building homes , community receiving the new school provide the bulk of the necessary labor for the school. Men, women and even the children pitch in to do their part during the construction process.
Before constructing a school, State leaders must agree to provide teachers necessary for the classrooms.
Once a school building has been constructed it is necessary in most cases for Mission of Hope-Honduras to build the desks and benches for the school rooms.
It is also necessary to furnish the schools with books and teaching materials. Mission of Hope-Honduras has established modest libraries in each of the 10 schools. This has been accomplished through donations of books by Scolastic Book Club, Oceanic Publishing Company and hundreds of children in American schools. Many additional reading text/skill books and storybooks are purchased with donations.
However, even with all the schools and books in the world, families of the desperately poor could still not afford to send their children to school. The modest cost for tuition and school materials such as pencils, paper, glue and crayons is beyond the means of these families. Therefore, Mission of Hope has annually provided students needing assistance with the necessary school supplies for the entire school year. In 2008 over 600 students were able to attend school with the assistance of Mission of Hope-Honduras.
In 2006, a scholarship program was established to enable 18 students to continue their education at the high school level. The Mission of Hope-Honduras is directing a great deal of energy towards improving the educational opportunities of promising Honduran children.
